I was asked last minute to do a ‘best mans’ speech the other day. The wedding was scheduled for the lunchtime, I got the panicked call the night before at 11.03PM asking if I was able to do the speech. I didn’t really think about it much at that point and said ‘Yes’.<\/p>\n

However, having very little time to prepare and having to get up early to help the wife & kids get ready, plus transport the wedding cake which the wife made to the venue WITHOUT breaking it. It was much heavier than i’d have thought, but it was 3 tiers after all!<\/p>\n

So I did the speech on the day, it wasn’t great. I actually had lots to say but didn’t say it, especially about the groom & bride. I really should have made notes and followed them, no matter how brief and not talked so much about my own situation to be honest. I can only apologise to them for that, however I did get them a round of applause at the end so I hope that’s worth something!<\/p>\n
