After (almost) 6 years my time at the EBRD finally comes to its natural conclusion.
From a tiny cloud based calculator in 2019 to a fully blown enterprise application in 2024 working on this project has been a career highlight.
Kudos to my team, I don’t think I’ll ever forget any of you and will certainly keep in touch with many of you. You inspired. You worked hard. You supported me. A truly knowledgeable bunch of people and knowing the richly diverse make up and geographic dispersal of the team makes me proud that you all worked as one. I wish you continued success as a team and long careers as individuals. Just a note to you all that for DevOps both AI and DevSecOps will be growth areas in 2025 – please continue to skill up!
I couldn’t say goodbye without mentioning my colleagues in IT security. Yes we butted heads numerous times and many times agreed to disagree (but you always went over my head anyway!) however you kept me honest and at times managed to tame my risk taking approach.
A long string of memorable events, a large number of mini-projects within the larger framework and the embracement of cloud technologies ensures that the EBRD is in a strong position to push forward.
2025 offers an opportunity to re-focus, analyse the shifting patterns in the job market and perhaps later on decide what to do next.
Keep up the good fight. Be kind. Help people.
